Cooke 18-100mm Varotal T3 Lens

Cooke 18-100mm Varotal T3 Lens

The Cooke 18-100mm Varotal T3 is a classic cinema zoom lens with great versatility. The lens close focuses to 2’4” with little to no focus breathing across the focal range. The Cooke 18-100 is often rented alongside Cooke Speed Panchros, because of their similar color and contrast performance.

Cooke has manufactured Varotal lenses since 1971, and they have set the standard for cinema zoom lenses for more than 50 years. This and all Varotal lenses perform well even wide open.  The Cooke 18-100mm was designed for academy 35mm, and can cover super 35mm 16:9 sensors. For super 35mm 4:3 sensors like Alexa Mini and Red Gemini, we suggest the use of the Veydra 1.2x expander.

The 18-100mm T3 Varotal is a large lens, 12.6 inches long, with a 156mm front diameter and weighing 13 pounds. You’ll want to include rods as part of your rental, and plan a prep day.
