Canon’s XC-10 looks like a mirrorless still camera, but it's a lot more. It will be at home on gimbals, drones, rigs, remotes, and anywhere else a lighter, smaller 4K camera with attached zoom lens is requested. Canon's Tim Smith called it a “POV and rig camera on steroids.” The XC-10 has a 1-inch sensor and an attached 10:1 zoom lens: 8.9-89 mm f/2.8-5.6. That’s the equivalent of 24.1-241 mm for stills and 27.3-273 mm for video in full frame 35mm still format, or approximately 17.6-176 mm in 35mm Academy Format. The Canon XC-10 records 4K UHD 3840×2160 AVC Interframe 422 8-bit up to 30 fps on CFast 2.0 cards, or up to 60 fps in 422 8-bit HD (& stills) on SDHC cards. Speaking of stills, the camera shows its hybrid versatility but letting you shoot 12 megapixel stills in it's photo mode, or you can get 8 megapixel framegrabs from the video recording.
